1/21/2024 0 Comments Review sherlock devils daughter![]() ![]() Holmes in typical investigative mood Along the way, we see several gameplay features make their return to help Holmes to solve his cases. Unfortunately, it races just a bit too quickly and the case seems over before it began, leaving behind feelings that more could have been done and that it was a missed opportunity to explore another side of Holmes. The detective is suddenly thrown into a more personal situation, and we even see rare glimpses of emotion as the story races to a finish. The game's aforementioned overarching storyline builds to a point where Holmes must take immediate action in the game's final concluding case. This is just the calm before the storm, though. As before, the cases suffer from being forgettable and it is difficult to recall any of the characters once they are over. Each of the independent cases takes approximately 3-4 hours to solve meaning that you'll need a longer time investment if you're planning to play one case at a time. If installing Windows 8.1 or 10 doesn't work (I'm going to get a USB stick to try installing Windows 8.Before that, Holmes needs to solve four other cases (five if you count the case that offers two mysteries to solve) in a game that takes its cues from predecessor Crimes & Punishments. I've literally been trying all day to install Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 but I'm getting error messages all the time so between looking up troubleshooting for those and for this game I'm losing my mind :( I don't know if it would make a difference that I have Windows 8 and not 8.1 though because it says Windows 7 works anyway so would that mean Windows 8 should be ok do you think? The only thing I can think of is that my OS is Windows 8, not 8.1. Memory: 6 GB (It says 5.46 GB usuable - is that ok?) ![]() Processor: AMD A8-4500M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.90 GHz I've Googled how to look up my system specifications and they're as follows (basically the same as Mangal2012): I did start playing the game regardless of this because I was looking forward to playing it so much but then the only bit I managed to do was the character portrait of that boy right at the beginning and then the game froze, the boy just stretched out his arms to the side of him and just stood there and Sherlock just stood up but didn't do anything, it was really creepy and weird lol! I tried the 'nosettingslimit' thing as well and it didn't make a difference. I tried playing the game and the sound is terrible, the people sound like robots and the speech is really slow and another character will start speaking over another one before they've finished. So I don't really understand much but basically I've had the same error come up as jmaunsell and Mangal2012 about my graphics card being below minimum requirements. Let me start by saying I'm really not familiar with computer terms, I'm just your average 20 something who uses a computer for basic things lol. * Close properties window and launch the game * Select Properties, press Set launch options. * Find Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter game there, right-click on its title You can suppress the warning by adding -nosettingslimit parameter into game launch options: ![]() If your system satisfies critical limitations (for example, your graphics card supports DirectX11 but other non-critical configuration options do not match those required), you can skip this warning and continue to the game but some gameplay flaws may appear (frame-rate drops, crashes etc.). If your specifications do not match those listed above, a warning will appear. Graphics Card:đ024 MB 100% DirectX Compatible AMD Radeon HD 7790 / Nvidia GeForce 460 GTX Processor: Intel Core i3 3.6GHz / AMD FX Series 4.2GHz Quad-Core These specifications should allow the game to run under 720p resolution at 30 frames per second, with all graphic solutions turned off or set at minimum. ![]()
